I’m doing a horrible job at dieting. I just wish there was some easy fix. Weight Loss surgery isn’t an option for me. I need to drop this weight the old fashioned way and lose it through exercise and dieting. In the past dieting has been easy for me but for some reason right now I just can’t get in the dieting groove. Maybe it’s the gloomy weather, the holidays, or a lack of self disciple? Maybe I’m just full of excuses and want to eat what I want to eat?
I haven’t had a chance to read any of the diet books I recently bought. With Christmas and travel to see my husband every weekend last month, I haven’t really had time for much. I need to find something that will click. I’ve even considered trying Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET™
Can you imagine being able to eat cookies and still loose weight? Ahhh, sounds like the ideal diet! LOL
I’m turning the big 4 - 0 this summer and I want to look good and feel even better. I’m not sure what the answer is for me right now.

Recently the three of the kids and I were out of town, visiting my husband, who is working out of state. We had some time to kill so I decided to treat the kids with a trip to Dollar Tree. I laid out the regular ground rules ahead of time:
- Everyone gets to pick out two items
- No sugary stuff
- No pressuring siblings to buy something
- Everyone stays near me, no wandering off
I was feeling nice and prepared since we had a game plan. We checked out the toys and then strolled over to the book area, I was thinking I’d pick up a Suduku book for myself. Boy was I surprise to see they had a large selection of popular diet books! One of the books I’d been wanting for quite awhile but put off the purchase because I didn’t want money on an expensive book.
I scored these great hardbound dieting books for $1 each:
How exciting is this? Now I just need to find the time to sit down and review the diet plans. Hopefully one of them will click with me and I can get back on track. I just don’t feel like doing Weight Watchers Points program any more. I’m burnt out. I feel like I could use a change and shake things up a little.
Oh and my kids left happy with their dollar purchases too!

That’s what my kids are calling me… The Tootsie Roll monster. I’m on quite a roll, thanks to Halloween! Looks like all the Tootsie Rolls are gone now so hopefully I can get back on track.

I haven’t posted an update for a few weeks. I’ve decided to finally bite the bullet and just get it over with. I’m doing miserably! I’ve fallen off the dieting wagon and there isn’t any end in sight. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I need to recommit to posting on this blog at least weekly, just to keep myself accountable. I’ve been so busy lately setting up other websites and I’ve sort of let this blog, my weight and health become a low priority, when I know it should be #1. I’ve gone from feeling great about my body to feeling disgusted by it.
I’m not sure where I go from here. I know I just need to jump back on the dieting wagon again but I’m just not feeling it. I don’t know, maybe I’m a little depressed? I’m not eating out of control or anything but I haven’t exercised at all in a few weeks. I’ve been trying to stick to a healthy eating plan but failed by going out to eat, again and again. I’m definitely stuck in a funk.

Today I completely blew my diet. I have no idea how many points I ate. Anyone care to figure it out for me? Here’s what I ate:
BREAKFAST:
Approx 1 cup of Fried potatoes - ouch! Not really diet friendly
LUNCH:
Panda Express - 2 entree meal with
Chow Mein
Orange Chicken (I ate 2/3’s)
String Green Bean Chicken (I ate all the green beans 1 piece of chicken)
Fortune Cookie
DINNER:
A small cup of Coldstone vanilla ice cream with 2 peanut butter cups (I had coupons and can’t pass up a good deal even if it is fattening).
I feel horrible. I don’t know what came over me. Tomorrow is a new day and I plan on leaving my mistakes all behind me and getting right back on plan. I think I also need to just stay home, if I had stayed home today I know I would have stayed on plan.
